Growing up my weight was never an issue until I became an adult. Working a full-time job and going to school full time really took a toll on my body and priorities. I went from being the skinniest of three girls balancing it all (because at the time I could eat whatever I wanted and never gained any weight) to being the 2nd heaviest and reaching the weight of 250lbs. Being in the height of my career (in customer service) and commuting 2 ½ hours a day didn’t help at all. I was exhausted, depressed, and just devastated because I never thought that I would weigh anything close to 250 lbs. I was at my wits end and didn’t even know where to start to take back control of my life.

An associate of mine had invited me to join her fitness and nutrition community. Even for two years, I was still hesitant and would avoid her like the plague (lol…no seriously). After rushing my mother to the ER for the SECOND time because of high blood pressure, I knew that I had to make a change. High blood pressure, diabetes and everything else ran in my family. Since I wasn’t getting any younger I knew that one day those things would catch up with me and I wouldn’t have a choice. I did NOT want to wait until I got to the point where the doctor was forcing me to make changes and take prescriptions for the rest of my life. I called up my friend and decided to commit at that moment!
That just made me hungry for more (speaking of)…. And so I gradually starting incorporating meal prepping (made easier because of the meal plans), eating more often, eating even more of a variety of foods and balancing all food categories (to ensure I was getting all of the daily nutrition I needed).
I’ve lost over 45 lbs., gotten rid of the migraines, gained more energy and more importantly I was able to get rid of the depression and the exhaustion that was weighing me down everyday!!

I am so lucky that I was invited into such an amazing fitness and nutrition community that would end up changing my life in so many ways. The process isn’t always easy, but every step is worth it. I started off making small changes (like incorporating exercise 25 mins. a day) and got results. I was SUPER EXCITED!!! I substituted one of my meals daily for any amazing superfood and WOW!!!!! I haven’t had a migraine since the second week of my new journey!!!!
I am no longer a burden to myself and I have learned to put myself FIRST over anything and anyone. I can’t give 100% of myself to anyone if I didn’t first show myself that I was 100% worth it!!! ☺
